Why Noitalumis?
Initially discovered as a reflection of “Simulation,” the name “Noitalumis” has since revealed a profounder meaning. By joining the Finnish/Estonian word “Noita” (witch/sorcerer) and the Latin word “Lumis” (light), it conjures the idea of a “Wizard of Light” found within the reversed “Simulation.”
My interpretation of “simulation” extends beyond a manufactured world; it’s the emergent reality arising from our collective, simultaneous (‘simul’) actions and thoughts, and the ongoing process (‘ation’) of creation, creating our one shared reality. Through this music, the intention is to illuminate our shared interconnected experience, revealing the fundamental unity that resonates within us all.
